I had previously only used nylon ribbons, but I decided I would buy a period accurate cotton ribbon for my typewriter.  It lived up to the reputation of cotton ribbons.  Bold, dark type.  So far, it works great, and at a fair price.  Once I wear it out, I will buy again.
